OUR STORY

Mycorr General Contractor started between two partners wanting to change the way typical contractors have been doing business.  They believe that through transparency and communication with the design team and owners that all problems can be solved and projects prosper.  Each and every year new challenges and opportunities face these construction projects.  The teamwork needed to overcome obstacles and make the project a success is only built by being open and communicating early and often.

OUR VISION

At Mycorr General Contractors, we take great pride in building for our clients.  We strive to communicate on a clear and consistent basis with not only the owners but the project team as a whole. We firmly believe that no project is ever a success because of one person or company.  It takes the whole team working together and communicating effectively to provide the best project each and every time.

We encourage our employees to look at their local community to give back in some manner through volunteering or service. The company as a whole takes a share of the years profits and donates to the local charities each year.

HOW THE NAME CAME ABOUT

Walking through the forest, it’s easiest to pay attention to what is happening at eye level and above. Birds, sunlight, wind, branches, there’s a lot to observe. Next time you’re exploring a forest, consider what lies below the soil, leaves, and moss that carpet the ground. Underneath the forest floor, intertwined with the roots of the trees, is a fascinating microscopic network.

Mycelium are incredibly tiny “threads” of an organism that wrap around or bore into tree roots. Taken together, myecelium composes what’s called a “mycorrhizal network,” which connects individual plants together to transfer water, nitrogen, carbon and other minerals. German forester Peter Wohlleben dubbed this network the “woodwide web,” as it is through the mycelium that trees “communicate.” In healthy forests, each tree is connected to others via this network, enabling trees to share water and nutrients. For saplings growing in particularly shady areas, there is not enough sunlight reaching their leaves to perform adequate photosynthesis. For survival, the sapling relies on nutrients and sugar from older, taller trees sent through the mycorrhizal network.

The mycorrhizal network plays a distribution role to keep the mycelium connected trees alive and healthy. Through the mycorrhizal network, uses older hub trees detect the ill health of their neighbors from distress signals, and send them needed nutrients.

Mycorr General Contractors' main goals are to create a web of communication with team members and its community for the benefit of all.  Hence the name Mycorr.
